Hi everyone! I hope that you’ve all been well. Recently, I’ve been conducting a series of short and immediate paint sketches of yachts and boats down near the local marina.
I have found myself struggling to really balance the visual elements against the changing weather, the differentiating light and shadows and just generally deciding what colour is really that colour.
Seeing as I’ve not put up visual work in a long while, I thought it would be a good idea.
All of the sketches were done in oil and range from about 1 hour to 2-2 and a half hour studies. I plan on doing a few more of these and eventually build up confidence to work in a new medium .
