Amazon

Welcome, dear readers. “Amazon” is a little short piece that I wrote a few days ago. It came quite naturally, almost in leaflets of detail that reinforced the tale itself. Again, as usual, I’m displaying this as it is and without any editing or modification.

AMAZON

She is crouched down, peering out;

her catharsis meddles in the wind and gnarls at branches,

through the forest beyond the road,

beyond her home.

Softened browns and tattered thread hangs

over her slender frame.

Blue and green beads plaited like a rotary blade down her shoulders

A curdle of muck smeared on her scalp, hanging like a disowned ledge

beneath those sonorous, charcoal eyes.

Her orbital movements vibrate with flickers of light.

She walks, unchanged and unmoved, thundering inside.

Wildlife blurring; rocks spinning at asteroid speed

beneath her feet.

The shore calls out to her magma heart; a new world ready for birth.

The light glazes her hair, swirling and mixing

with the deep-black roots.

She’s close.

The storm is in her and on the outside.

A stoic leap into the grey waves.

Her ventricles collapse to the shudders of the current

in the subterranean graveyard.

Well, there you go. That’s a short piece for you all to enjoy or think about.

As always, thank you to everyone who stops by on here – I appreciate it tremendously.

Peace,

Tom. 🙂
